Godzilla x Kong The New Empire
"Moana 2" has officially surpassed "Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire" at the worldwide box office, taking its total to over $600 million globally, making it the fifth highest-grossing film of 2024. "Godzilla x Kong" had previously amassed $571.75 million.
The Disney sequel has performed exceptionally well, particularly in international markets, where its cumulative total is nearly equal to its domestic earnings. It achieved strong second-weekend numbers with $103.7 million, showcasing minimal drop-off, and breaking records for the biggest Thanksgiving and Black Friday grosses for a Disney animation.
The next box office target for "Moana 2" is Denis Villeneuve’s "Dune: Part Two," which has grossed $714.44 million globally.
